Adam leaves to meet our son and apply for his visa to come to his new home. He will stay for a week, see our son a few times, and head home. Once the visa is ready (1-3 weeks), I'll head out. When I arrive, our son will come into our care forever. He and I will live at a small hotel for 2 weeks while we wait for our exit letter.
We've all been doing some serious nesting this week - cleaning out, organizing, decorating. I've also been reviewing all our books/videos/articles about attachment in adoption and praying up a storm for our little one.
Our son will lose everyone and everything he's come to know and love these last four months in foster care. Pray with me for his heart - to be resilient in the face of yet another life transition. Pray that we'll connect quickly and deeply and that he'll be able to be comforted by us.
